The British know how to drink and apparently they also know how to give out wildly ridiculous Driving While Intoxicated fines. A British man on his way to visit his friends was given a DWI by a police officer after he was pulled over driving his daughters Barbie Big Wheel.
The car, which goes 4mph was spotted by the officer when he realized an adult male was behind the wheel. According to the Daily Mail, Paul Hutton, the 40 year old father of four said “The police car came up alongside me and the officer said, ‘Are you all right there?’ When I tried to talk I realized how drunk I was.
Even the sentencing judge thought the case was one of the more strange occurrences he had scene, stating “This is most unusual. I have never seen the like of it in 15 years on the bench,” adding “The vehicle is not even capable of doing the speed of a mobility scooter and could be outrun by a pedestrian.”
The vehicle was impounded and Hutton is fighting to get it back.
