Gary Duschl started building a chain out of chewing gum wrappers when way back in 1965 when he was 14. But as he grew olderand his peers began developing outside interests, he continued to work on his chain, unaware that he was weaving an odd legacy.
The chain currently weighs 900 pounds and is twelve miles long, surpassing Mt. Everest in height. Think about that: a mountain that people die trying to climb for sport is in the shadow of some guy’s gum wrappers. If that doesn’t make you feel like your life’s achievements are worthless, then nothing will.
